The Shandur Polo Event has been unilaterally postponed by the Tourism Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

The world’s highest polo pitch was supposed to host the massive event from June 28 to June 30, but the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration postponed it on Tuesday due to bad weather.In a notification to the government of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture, Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department, the secretary stated, “It is deeply regretted to inform the general public that Shandur Polo Festival, scheduled from June 28 to June 30, 2024, is hereby postponed, due to inclement weather conditions till further orders in the best public interest.”

The polo players and fans in Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan are worried about the last-minute decision to postpone the annual tournament.The administration of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ought to have declared the event date after considering all relevant factors, including the weather.
